Shipping Information

Introduction

We intend to offer appearance money to all overseas hovercraft, which complete a minimum of one race. However, as sponsorship is not yet in place, attendees are advised not to rely on support, but to consider it a bonus if we can provide it.

Agent / Broker

Be aware that your hovercraft or container must pass US Customs, US Agricultural and US Health Inspections. Since the 2001 US terrorist attacks, inspections have increased and long delays are possible.

To prevent delays and health concerns, all hovercraft must be thoroughly cleaned prior to shipping. Make sure each craft is cleaned inside and out, and free of all dirt and soil. Try to have a recognized authority (health inspector, veterinarian, your country's agriculture department) certify that your craft is free of disease organisms such as hoof (foot) and mouth disease and anthrax.

All hovercraft, containers and crates must be empty of fuel or anything that could be categorized as an explosive or weapon.

When containers arrive at the site they will be removed form their trailers and placed on the ground in the country's assigned area of the pit. This service will be provided by the organizers.

We have appointed the following company as the official WHC shipping agent/broker. They are experienced with all of the above issues and are involved with the import/export of Formula 1 cars and equipment for Indianapolis U.S. Formula 1, Grand Prix (Indy F1 is on the 28 & 29 Sep. 01, the weekend following the World Hovercraft Championship). They can quote for all your needs, air or sea from any country. They are familiar with site details in Terre Haute and are located in offices on the West side of Indianapolis near the Indianapolis Airport and about 45 minutes from Terre Haute.

Contact Mike Rairdon for quotation or for any information about shipping your craft or container to Terre Haute.
