Containers are arriving! Unloading the first container...stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4, stage 5, stage 6, stage 7, stage 8.

Japan 1, Belgium, France, Japan 2 have arrived and are unloaded. Sweden is in Indianapolis, will clear customs by afternoon and possibly delivered to race site today. Two British containers have cleared customs and are in Indianapolis. Will be delivered on 13 Sept. to race site. The Australian container has cleared customs and is on a train in Wisconsin.

2 September 2002 Dr. William R Bertelson will be presented the WHF 2002 Excellence Award at 5:00 pm on Wednesday the 18th during the CACTS Symposium at Rose-Hulman. The 2000 award recipient was Sir Christopher Cockerell

29 August 2002 Bryan Phillips, of North to Alaska fame, is driving out from WA state with a large Sev machine to attend the WHC! Rumor has it that he will be accompanied by Dave Crawford.
23 August, 2002 United States Congressman John Hostettler to open 1st World Symposium on Hovercraft Rescue - We are honored to annouce that the Hon. John Hostettler, United States Congressman, will deliver the opening address at the 1st World Symposium on Hovercraft Rescue, September 15, 2002, at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Congressman Hostettler is serving his fourth term representing the 8th District of Indiana. Hostettler received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In 1999, in part due to his engineering background, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Armed Services Research and Development Subcommittee. In that capacity he traveled to Moscow to meet with members of the Duma for talks regarding national missile defense. He now serves as Vice Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Special Oversight Panel on Terrorism.
16 August, 2002 Royal Aeronautical Society Supports WHC2004 The Australian Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society has announced their active involvement in staging World Hovercraft Week 2004, to be held in Canberra, Australia.

If approved by the World Hovercraft Federation, the 2004 World Hovercraft Championship will commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the world's first hovercraft race, held on Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, Australia in March 1964.

7 June, 2002 The National Hoverally is coming soon. This is the second event to be held at the new WHC site, and will serve as a trial run for World Hovercraft Week 2002. The National cruise will feature a kick-off by the Indianapolis Colts football team. Take a look at this exciting press release. The registration costs have been posted under Participant Info. Soon, complete registration for the event will be available online. There is a big discount for early registration, so stay tuned!
